Nancy Mehl has done it again! I’ve had the privilege of reading and reviewing her last four books, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to read her latest book, Deadly Echoes.
This is the second book in the Finding Sanctuary series. The reader will recognize the quaint town and several characters, but it certainly could stand on its own.
The main character, Sarah, who is the town school teacher is shocked to discover that her sister, Hannah, was murdered. As Sarah learns more about the attack, she begins to see similarities between it and her parents’ murder. She wants to keep her niece safe, but also desires to see that another family isn’t shattered by this killer. Therefore, with the help of her friend and local deputy, Paul, Sarah embarks on her own investigation. Will it lead to answers or danger?
Deadly Echoes brought out the sleuth in me. Nancy did such an exceptional job crafting the story that it had me guessing who could actually be trusted until the end. The twists and turns kept the pages turning. I would highly recommend this book, as well as, her previous suspense novels.
With the recent shake-up at the television station, KDSM, Wynter Evans is trying her best to find a story that will not only secure her job, but also land her in the coveted anchor position. However, in going through possible story leads she sees a picture that could change her life. Looking past the black felt Mennonite hat the boy in one of the pictures looks exactly like her brother Ryan who disappeared nine years ago.
After convincing her boss, Ed, that she should do a piece on small unknown towns in Missouri Wynter heads to Sanctuary with her photographer, Zac. Will searching into this town looking for her lost brother bring closure or more questions! Is it best to leave the past alone? By continuing to investigate is Wynter putting her own life in jeopardy?
Wow, Nancy Mehl has produced yet another winning combination of twists and turns in her latest novel, Gathering Shadows. It is the first book in her Finding Sanctuary series. I would highly recommend this book. I will warn you that once you start reading Gathering Shadows it will be difficult to set down.
I have read the first two books in the Road to Kingdom series by Nancy Mehl, so when I had the opportunity to read and review the latest book, Unforeseeable, I was thrilled.
Callie Hoffman’s life is all falling into place in Kingdom. She loves working in the local restaurant with her friend, LIzzie and is engaged to the love of her life, Levi, the new pastor. However, when a body is discovered just outside of Kingdom that is connected to a serial killer, things begin to spiral out of control.
Will this mystery bring more questions than answers? Is there some connection between the case and Cassie? Will Callie’s search for answers put her engagement and life in jeopardy?
Nancy takes the reader back to the delightful, secluded town of Kingdom. There are several familiar characters as well as a few new ones. It is not necessary to read the first two books before jumping into the series. However, once you have read one, you will want to read the others.
Like Nancy’s other Road to Kingdom books, I would highly recommend, Unforeseeable. It keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
