Movin Mondays – Week 4 Report

I can’t believe how quickly this month and the Shapely Girl Fitness challenge has flown by. I have not been overly committed to an exercise program in quite some time, so I was looking forward to having this challenge to help encourage me to stick with it.

This month certainly has not gone how I had originally planned it, due to some health issues. These issues meant I could not do the full workout three times each week. However, thanks to the versatility of this DVD, I did not have to quit. Instead, I simply opted for the toning and shorter workouts. I plan to go back to the full workouts as soon as I am cleared from the doctor.

And now the results (drum roll please)… I lost a total of 2 inches from my thighs, 2 ½ inches from my waist, 3 inches from my bust and a total of 6 pounds. It may not sound like a lot, but I am thrilled with the results.

This challenge/review is just the beginning for me. It has given me the encouragement and jump-start that I needed. I challenge and encourage you to check out Debra’s website, and select one of the DVDs that will be right for you. Don’t wait until the first of the year or even next week. Stop making excuses and start moving. You can do it!

Movin’ Monday – Week 3 Report

Well, it is hard to believe that another week of Movin’ Mondays is already over. In fact, I can’t believe that I only have one more week in this challenge. I will have to say that even though I have not been able to do the full workouts three times a week, due to health issues, I plan on continuing to use this Let’s Get Stepping DVD after this month long challenge.  As I stated, due to some health issues, I have not been able to do the lengthier workout this week. However, one of the things I absolutely love about the Shapely Girl Fitness DVD is that it is so versatile. The DVD gives me the option of doing the full workout or the shorter ones as well as toning. I love that Debra gives you these options. It has worked out great for me. I know that in the past, I have gotten discouraged because I couldn’t keep up with doing the full workout, so I would end up quitting. This time is definitely different.

This week’s results are not that impressive. However, I would like to remind you that not only have I not been able to do the full workouts as intended, I also have not altered my eating habits. Anyhow, I have lost another ½ inch on my waist and bust. I realize that this is not much of a difference, but it is still a decrease, so I am pleased.

My intent is to finish this last week of the challenge strong. Be sure to return next Monday for the final results. I will be revealing the total pounds and inches lost over the course of the month. Not defined by the numbers

Numbers are all around us and effect us everyday – both positively and negatively. For those with facebook, twitter and/or a blog, you can easily be consumed with your numbers – followers, likes, tweets, the list could go on. However, the effect of numbers is not limited to the “online world”. People, women especially, can become consumed with their jean size or their weight. It in fact can get to be where this number has so much power that it dictates the rest of the day. If the number goes down, everything is wonderful; your entire outlook on life is brighter. On the other hand, if the number goes up, then the day is ruined before it even begins.

Let me tell you a secret – a number does not define you. No, dear friend, your identity comes from God alone. He loves and treasures you. This is not to say we are not supposed to take care of the body God has given us. In fact, I mean just the opposite; we need to take care of ourselves. We just have to make certain that your goals are realistic. Keep in mind that not everyone is supposed to be a size 2.

With all that said, I knew that I needed to make some changes in my life to take care of my body. So when the opportunity to be a part of a select group of women to commit to working out with a Shapely Girl Fitness DVD three times a week for the month of October, I jumped at the chance. Okay, let’s be honest, jumping is a little of an overstatement, but you get the idea. This was the nudge and accountability that I needed to get moving.

Therefore, for the next month, I am going to have Movin’ Mondays on my blog, where I will report my progress (inches/pounds lost, energy level, etc) and tell you about this wonderful program started by Debra Mazda for real women, not just those who are already in shape and tone. I wanted to share my goals with you as well. My goals for this month is to stick with the commitment to do the “Let’s Get Stepping” DVD at least three times a week, lose 10 pounds, and have more energy to do things with my family.
