The Calling – Book Review

There is just something about Suzanne Woods Fisher’s writing that draws me in. I took the opportunity to read her latest book, The Calling through Netgalley. This is the second book in The Inn at Eagle Hill series.

Suzanne takes the reader back to the quaint community of Stoney Ridge. There are several familiar characters as well as some new faces. This book centers primarily around the character of Bethany Schrock. She is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after Jake Hertzler shattered her heart when he left. She is working for five elderly Amish sister to try and go through their things and straighten their home to keep her hands and mind busy. These sisters are full of secrets and Bethany finds herself helping them in numerous ways throughout the summer. She also uncovers more about her mother who left when Bethany was very young. Will discovering these secrets bring her hurt or healing?

As usual, Suzanne takes the reader on a wild ride with lots of unexpected surprises. I would definitely recommend this wonderful book to pick up and read on a cold, snowy day.
