Cramming Our Schedules

coffee 2

When my husband was designing our home I was blown away by all the closets and storage he added. I debated why we would need all the closets and what I would place in them.  Well, three years later and I am shocked at how full the closets are. The storage closet in our hall comes to mind. This is a catch all for files, school papers, gifts, craft projects, extra books – you name it. Everyone in the family seems to gravitate to the closet to deposit items he or she doesn’t want to let go of, but can’t seem to find any real place for it….

This is a portion of an article that I have featured on Encouragement Café today. I would love for you to read and then come back and share your thoughts in the comment section.

  1. Love this blog today about all the “stuff” we have collected and where we can keep it. We live in a condo so we do not have a whole lot of room. I find myself going through items that we no longer need and take it to the nearest thrift store to let someone else have it. I know the feeling with one room or closet that is a catch all. That would be our utility room. Sounds like good sound advice on printing out our schedule and seeing where we can put God into it especially with Christmas just around the corner.

  2. Jamy, enjoyed this post! I have more “stuff” than useful items. Thanks to my daughter it is a work in progress! I can so relate to the cramming of schedules and somehow this week became less busy…thank you Lord! I am always conscious of making time to “hang out with Jesus” as I lovingly like to put it! Even if it is at midnight! What I really want to try to do is wake up earlier and start my day with more quiet time than I have now…His Word either in my Bible or a devotional or a blog post brings me such spiritual clarity and strength… He is all I need to spend my day in obedient service to Him, to keep my divine appointments and to share His love with all. Thanks for getting me thinking about some changes that I have been putting on hold! God bless!
