Soaring – Part I

Sitting in a window seat 36000 feet up, I am simply blown away. Not only am I physically soaring, but my heart is as well. As I make my way to the She Speaks Conference in North Carolina, I am overwhelmed at what all God has done in my life this past year. My first book, Get REAL: Stop Hiding Behind the Mask was published and featured at a women’s retreat in Oklahoma. I became a member of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study team and had the privilege of being on the teaching team and help to lead thousands of women around the world in Let It Go and Stressed-Less Living. I am also the director of the Prayer Warrior Team for the P31 Online Bible Study. I had the joy of witnessing several women being blessed through this ministry, lives changed and prayers answered. On a personal level, I was also diagnosed with uterine cancer last fall on my birthday. God brought me through the surgery and no further treatment was needed.

Looking out the window during the flight gave me the change in perspective that I needed. We do not see the entire picture. You and I do not know what tomorrow holds, but dear friend, God is already there. He wants to pour blessings upon you and take you to places you have never imagines, but you must be willing to say Yes and to take that step of faith into the unknown.

God cannot work in and through our lives if we never leave the comfort and safety of home. We have to rely on God and trust Him to direct our paths.

I know it is not easy. I completely get that, especially as I am seated in seat 8A on my first solo flight. I am not typically an eager flyer anyhow, so this was a leap for me. However, I truly believe God has called me to the She Speaks Conference to serve and give back to this incredible ministry that has impacted my life in numerous ways. I am nervous, but I know that God has a plan for my life and I need to be obedient to His leading. Therefore, I am volunteering at the Proverbs 31 Conference and looking forward to what God has in store – saying Yes to Him without limitations or restrictions.

I would love to hear from you. How are you choosing to say Yes to God without any conditions attached. I also encourage you to come back on Friday for the second part of this story.

  1. Hi Jamy! First let me say I love the new layout of your blog! I am actually finishing the last chapter of your book. Every woman that reads this, please get a copy! I am learning that I not only wear a mask to people, but try to wear one for God, too. it is okay to take off the mask because God knew me and loved me before I was I my mother’s womb, and He only wants to give me plans and a purpose. He knows my limitations and my strengths. He will never send me out alone. Yes, He may push me to my limits, but He will still equip me with what I need. Therefore, today I’m saying yes to taking off the mask and solely trusting in God. I say yes to whole heartedly searching for my purpose in Him.
