Once Upon a Time – Book Review

When you hear the words “once upon a time”, you know that you are going to hear a story. I absolutely love stories. They help us to remember something or illustrate a point. This is exactly what Jesus did. The stories and illustrations that He told are still around today.

This is what Debbie Macomber came up with her idea for the book, Once Upon a Time. The whole concept behind this book is that we are each writing our own stories – the story of our life. Like any good book, there are many twists and turns along the way. “We are the stories other people read.”

Each of the chapters in the book highlight elements of a story in order to understand our own lives better. I personally loved the “storytelling prompt” at the end of each chapter. They help to build the frame of our own story.

I am a Debbie Macomber fan and this book, though nonfiction, is still her quality and storytelling ability. A wonderful reminder of how we need to look at our lives.
