A New Home for Lily by Suzanne Woods Fisher and Mary Ann Kinsinger is about an adorable second grade child named Lily. Her family left the familiar in New York for an Amish community in Pennsylvania. I love the way the reader sees life through Lily’s point of view. You get to see the changes and adjustments that she has to make in the new community.
Suzanne Woods Fiher does what she does best by portraying the wonderful characters in the Amish community. The reader falls in love with sweet little Lily and feels for her when Effie is cruel or when Aaron teases her.
The characters are dynamic, as would be expected in an of Suzanne’s novels. They grow and change over the course of the story.
A New Home for Lily was a relaxing, easy read that I would recommend. Grab a cup of coffee, this book, curl up and escape into Lily’s world.
