What direction are you headed?

crossroads

I would like to take a moment to apologize for the abundance of book reviews over the past several weeks. Due to health conditions, God has slowed the pace of things for me. I have been using this “down time” to read, study and reflect on what God desires of me, specifically in this new year. There was one word that just kept coming to mind – rely.

Over the past few weeks I have had to do that a lot more than I am used to. This past Christmas, I was unable to do the normal preparations, so I had to rely on others to step in and help out. During my surgery and hospital stay last week, I had to rely on the doctors and nurses to care for me as well as family members to care for the kids in my absence. Due to restrictions, I will need to rely on others for quite a while. However, I have learned through this to rely solely on God. No amount of stress or anxiety will change my current circumstances. However, I can rest assured that I am safely held in the palm of God’s hand. The same promise is true for you dear friend. When those doubts and fears come into our lives, we simply need to turn into the safety that only He can provide. I am certain there are some reading this thinking, Yeah, that’s great for you, but you don’t know what is going on in my life. You are right, I don’t, but trust me when I tell you I have been in some dark times and places in my life and I wanted to do nothing but hide. It is no secret that we live in very uncertain times and it doesn’t matter whether your doubts and fears are great or small, either way God longs to take all those from you.

running

I am going to let you in on a little secret – we are all running. The question remains, what are you running to or from?

Please take a moment to listen to the words of this song. Let the message just wash over you.

Hand Reaching

So, this next week as you put on those running shoes, I challenge you to stop and consider the direction you are headed. Make the decision to run into the arms of your Savior today.

Also, if you have selected a word to be your focus in 2013, I would love for you to share it with us.

    • Thank you for your prayers and you are right, our faith is never wasted. God will use it all for His glory and the purpose He has for each one of us. I love your word choice as well. I am so thankful that God’s mercies are new everyday.

  1. Jamy: Great Post. I didn’t think there were too many book reviews. I have noticed a lot of my She Speaks Sisters have been going through rough patches in one way or another (me included).

My One Word for 2013 is diligent.

    • Dawn, thanks for the grace 🙂 I know that since She Speaks the enemy is working overtime to hinder us in our personal ministries. I will continue to pray for you.
Diligent is a wonderful word choice. I am certain that God will use this is mighty ways this year.
