My Stubborn Heart – Book review

I had the opportunity to read the debut novel, My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade this past week and I wanted to tell you about it.

This story takes the reader along on a journey with the main character, Kate Donovan.  The reader meets her during a period in her life where she is in need of an adventure.  She has the opportunity to her grandmother back to the small town of Redbud, Pennsylvania to restore the home she grew up in.  With her love of antiques and a need to get away from the city for awhile, Kate jumps at the chance to help with the renovation.  In the course of the renovation, she meets Matt Jarreau.  He is dealing with his own heart issues.  Throughout the course of the book, these two main characters must figure out how they will deal with their issues of the heart and how to move on with their lives.

Becky Wade does an amazing job of developing the characters throughout the book, especially those of Kate and Matt.  The reader gets an inside look at their hearts and whether they will choose to face the issues at hand.  The question becomes will they give into their stubborn hearts?

This was a fabulous book that I would highly recommend.  The story grabs the reader early on and you want to continuing reading to discover where Kate’s heart will lead her.  One word of caution, once you start reading it, you will not want to put it down.
