Stop and Smell the Roses

As it is nearing the time that the older three kids are heading off for the summer, I find myself taking time out to do things with them.  In fact, we sat down the other day and made a list of everything they wanted to eat or do in the next week.  As I was thinking about how I was acting differently over the past few days, I have been very convicted.  Why is it that we act and live differently when we know that our time with someone is short?  The same is true when someone finds out he/she only has a short time to live.  This has really been a wake up call for me.  I need to live intentionally every single day that God blesses me with.  I do not want to waste the time that He has given to me.  I never know when it will be my last.  I need to reprioritize my day, my life for that matter.  I need to focus on the direction God wants me to go and take time to do things with the ones I love and not put off for another day.  Every one of us needs to take time out of our life to be silly or dance in the rain.  You never know when you might not get the opportunity again.  Rarely is there a person on his/her deathbed that says, “I wish I would have spent more time at work.”  Stop and think of how you spend your life.  Is it on what is important or simply what is necessary?

The next online Bible study, “One Month to Live”, will help every one of us to take another look at our own life and live it with no-regrets.  I encourage you to subscribe to my blog and I will get you on the list for this study.  The study will start on Sunday, June 10th and will last for 30 days.  The format is different from my previous study.  Everyday you will have a short chapter to read, only 5 or 6 pages, and then we will have a discussion over the questions in the book on the facebook page, as well as, the blog.  There are also some activities for you to do on your own time to incorporate the ideas from that chapter into your life.  I promise you that if you take the time to not only read, but also engage yourself in this study, your life will be changed.  What is holding you back?  Take that first step to changing you life by joining me in this journey.
