I’ve Got a Secret

I remember growing up and having secrets was a big deal. You liked a certain boy at school, but you didn’t want anyone to know. Sometimes you kept it to yourself, but generally there was that one true, best friend that you shared everything with. Well, time passes and the secrets change. It can simply be your true age or weight, or, more deeply, who you really are behind the mask. However, we still tend to keep our secrets to a select few. I have a secret for you, lean in close…..the Bible is filled with God’s truths and I want to share those with you. Christianity is not supposed to be a secret club where only the select few get to join. Christ died for all. We, as believers, are to share our faith — the secret truths of the Bible with others. As you know, I am an avid reader. I just finished another amazing online Bible study, “It’s No Secret: Revealing Divine Truths Every Woman Should Know” by Rachel Olsen. This book is fantastic. Rachel examines twelve truths from the Bible in the book. It includes great study questions at the end of each chapter that really make you stop and think. The last chapter involves disclosure, which really hit home with me. As a new Christian, I remember being so fired up and wanting to share the Good News with any one and everyone. However, time passed and the fire began to die out. Don’t get me wrong, I was still walking with God, but I wasn’t sharing His truths with others. As difficult as it may seem at times, we need to share the secret truths of the Bible. In order to become a believer, someone else had to step out of their comfort zone to share with you. We need to fan the flame in our own lives and share with others. In Mark 16:15, Jesus gives the great commission, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” I know that not everyone is called to go to a foreign country to spread the gospel. However, we are all called to share and your “mission field” maybe within your department at work, neighborhood or even your own home. I challenge you, as well as, myself to share God’s truths with others this week. This is a wonderful secret that needs to be shared with everyone.

  1. This is where I am right now in my life. On fire, and wanting to share. Just heard on the radio this morning that we should be going out into the world and not always hiding in the church. This, too, is what you are saying. Get out and spread the good news…..
